Damascus, (SANA) President Bashar al-Assad on Sunday met governors of provinces in the presence of Prime Minister and Local Administration Minister.
During the meeting, President al-Assad stressed the importance of constantly communicating with citizens, meeting them and conducting field visits in order to actively involve citizens in decision-making and informing them about what the government can provide within available resources including providing livelihood necessities which remain the citizens’ primary concern in light of the exceptional circumstances taking place in the country.
President al-Assad affirmed the need to provide families of martyrs and injured and missing people, and to people displaced from their areas with all necessary support , stressing the need for quickly finding suitable solutions for their problems.
He asserted that the tasks of governors aren’t limited to executive and services aspects; rather they should encompass political work by contributing to bolster reconciliation to stem shedding blood of the Syrians and by being open to national political forces and communicating with them in order to involve everyone in building the future Syria.
President al-Assad also stressed the need for governors to give utmost attention to reconstruction and to coordinate with relevant authorities in this regard.
For their part, the governors touched upon the most significant obstacles hindering work progress and the efforts being exerted to overcome them in coordination with ministries and authorities in order to improve the living, services and developmental conditions of Syrian cities and provincial areas within available resources.
